Drew Rendall

Drew Rendall is a Professor of Biology at the University of New Brunswick, specializing in the evolution and function of animal communication systems. His research transitioned from nonhuman primates to avian models, with current emphasis on proximate mechanisms underlying song complexity in birds and conserved vocal processes across species.

Publications investigate bioacoustic phenomena across taxa—including primates, dogs, and wrens—focusing on vocal nonlinearities, song structure, breeding biology, and the evolutionary interplay between cognition and communication.
