About
Dragana Rogulja is Associate Professor of Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School, leading research on sleep regulation using Drosophila models. Her lab investigates neural mechanisms controlling sleep-wake transitions and sleep's biological necessity.
Research combines genetic screening, neuronal imaging, and behavioral analysis to identify sleep-promoting factors and neural circuits. Current projects examine molecular pathways linking sleep deprivation to lifespan reduction and metabolic regulation during sleep states.
Unpublished work identifies dietary protein sensing pathways that modulate sleep depth. The lab employs droplet microfluidics for single-cell metabolic analysis to elucidate connections between cellular metabolism and sleep quality.
