Douglas Reinemann is Professor of Biological Systems Engineering and CALS Associate Dean for Outreach and Extension at University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Agricultural Engineering and directs the UW Milking Research and Instruction Lab.
His research examines sustainable bio-energy systems, renewable energy policy, milking biomechanics, and agricultural biosensors. Recent publications focus on milking automation efficiency, renewable energy integration in agriculture, and decision support systems for dairy farms. He received the National Food and Energy Award from ASAE and serves on multiple international standards committees.
He leads research on energy-agriculture interfaces through the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center and 'green cheese' initiatives exploring dairy-biofuel synergies.
