Douglas Keaton is a Professor and Faculty Director of Classical & Liberal Education and Core Curriculum at Flagler College. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati (2010). His research focuses on Philosophy of Mind, Metaphysics, Philosophy of Science, and Philosophy of Video Games, with additional expertise in Existentialism and the history of analytic philosophy.
Teaching specialties include courses like 'Philosophy of Science,' 'Existentialism,' and 'Philosophy and Video Games.' His work addresses foundational issues in metaphysics such as property realization, causal exclusion, and supervenience arguments. Recent conference presentations span topics from interventionism in functional properties to cognitive phenomenology and advice ethics.
Publications emphasize metaphysical analysis with contributions to journals like Philosophical Studies and European Journal of Philosophy. Office hours are held Monday 11am-noon and Wednesday 10am-noon on campus.
