Douglas Coe

Douglas Coe is a Lecturer in the Honors College at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Creative Lead for the Master of Science in Design + Innovation (MD+I) program. He previously held roles at the Peck School of the Arts (UW-Milwaukee), where he taught in the Design and Visual Communication program and co-founded the Tending Tomorrow project and podcast through a Collaboratory grant with the Center for 21st Century Studies. His current research focuses on speculative futures, design fiction, and the transformative power of storytelling in public imagination.

His work bridges creative practice and academic inquiry, emphasizing speculative design methodologies. Recent talks and workshops include explorations of design fiction, wellness through collaborative rituals, and ethics in contemporary design. He co-leads Speculative Futures MKE, a community initiative in Milwaukee.
