Doug Luckie is a West Holmes Professor in the Department of Physiology at Michigan State University's Lyman Briggs College. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology from the University of Virginia and completed postdoctoral work at Stanford University. His academic career spans over two decades with significant contributions to both cystic fibrosis research and biology education.
Luckie's research interests span two primary domains: cystic fibrosis physiology and science education. In cystic fibrosis research, he focuses on the malfunction of the CFTR membrane channel and its effects on cellular pH regulation. In education research, he investigates innovative teaching methods that enhance student learning in biology courses.
