Dorothea Olkowski

Dorothea Olkowski is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS). She serves as Director of the Interdisciplinary Cognitive Studies Program and is a member of the Rotman Institute and the UNESCO International Network of Women Philosophers’ Steering Committee. Her work bridges phenomenology, postmodern philosophy, and analytic philosophy of language, with a focus on ethics, cognitive science, and quantum models of personhood.

Her research critiques classical models of human nature, advocating for affective reasoning and network-based understandings of individuals. She explores how intuitionistic logic and quantum frameworks can address ethical and political challenges. Key interests include feminist ethics, the philosophy of science, and interdisciplinary methodologies.

Publications span journals like PhanEx and Rizomes, as well as edited volumes addressing Deleuze, Merleau-Ponty, and feminist phenomenology. Her authored books include Postmodern Philosophy and the Scientific Turn (2012) and co-edited Feminist Phenomenology Futures (2017).
