Doris Damyanovic

Doris Damyanovic is an Associate Professor at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, affiliated with the Institute of Landscape Planning and Department of Landscape, Water and Infrastructure. As Vice Rector for Teaching, Continuing Education and Students, she bridges academic leadership with research in climate-resilient urban development and gender-sensitive planning.

Her research interests span climate change adaptation, gender mainstreaming in urban planning, public space design, green infrastructure, and participatory planning processes. Recent publications emphasize integrating climate policies into spatial planning, equitable urban development, and land tenure reforms in Ethiopia.

Scientific Awards include the Vienna Women's Prize 'Urban Planning' (2018), Project Anniversary Fund of Vienna (2013), and two 2008 accolades for poster and dissertation excellence.

• Supervised 65+ research projects on topics like climate-proofing cities, gender-responsive disaster risk reduction, and digital tools for urban planning.
• Secured grants from the European Commission, FFG, City of Vienna, and Ministries.

She has delivered 85+ lectures globally, focusing on gender-equitable urbanism and climate adaptation frameworks, and contributed to 66+ knowledge-transfer publications including policy reports and media articles.
