Doreen D'Cruz

Doreen D'Cruz is a Senior Lecturer in the School of English and Media Studies at Massey University, New Zealand. Her academic work focuses on literary studies with an emphasis on gender, isolation, and national literatures.

She is the author of Loving Subjects: Narratives of Female Desire (2002) and co-author of The Lonely and the Alone: The Poetics of Isolation in New Zealand Fiction (2011) with John C. Ross. Her publications also include articles on British, American, Australian, and New Zealand writers. From 2001 to 2007, she served as an Associate Editor for The Year's Work in English Studies.
