Donna M. Callaghan

Donna M. Callaghan is a Professor and Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning at Widener University's School of Nursing. She holds a PhD in Nursing Science (2000) from Widener University, an MSN in Nursing Education (1987) from Villanova University, and a BS in Nursing (1981) from Pennsylvania State University.

Her research focuses on health promotion across the lifespan, spirituality in healthcare, and faith community nursing outcomes. She developed a health promotion intervention integrating spiritual growth and led projects involving undergraduate and graduate students in faith community outreach. Her work includes collaborations with the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing.

Callaghan has received numerous awards, including the 2024 Distinguished University Professor Award and multiple Sigma Theta Tau Excellence Awards (2024, 2021, 2016, 2013). Her publications emphasize faith community nursing education, documentation practices, and health promotion strategies.
