Dong Hoon Kim

Dong Hoon Kim is an Associate Professor in the Cinema Studies department at the University of Oregon's College of Arts and Sciences. His work bridges media history and cultural studies, focusing on the ideological and visual frameworks of cinema in East Asia and beyond.

Research Interests: His scholarship critically examines colonial cinema, socialist cinema, transnational media flows, and the intersection of media spectatorship with national identity. His studies span East Asian film, media, and popular culture, emphasizing historical and discursive formations.
