Dong Cheng

Professor Dong Cheng is the Chinese Chair at World Maritime University (WMU), teaching in the Maritime Energy Management specialization. Previously at Dalian Maritime University for nearly three decades, he served as Deputy Director of Academic Affairs and Vice Dean of Marine Engineering College. His research spans condition monitoring using acoustic emission, marine propeller design, multi-source 3D fusion technologies, and maritime decarbonization strategies.

Cheng holds a PhD in Vehicle Operation Engineering, an MSc in Marine Engineering, and a BSc in Marine Engineering, all from Dalian Maritime University. His technical expertise bridges marine engineering fundamentals with emerging sustainability challenges in global shipping.
