Donald R. Uzarski

Donald R. Uzarski is Adjunct Professor in Civil Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, specializing in infrastructure asset management. He developed decision support systems RAILER (railroad track) and BUILDER (buildings) for Department of Defense applications.

His research establishes methodologies for maintenance optimization of transportation infrastructure. Professional experience includes 20 years at the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory and 16 years of military service in the Navy Civil Engineer Corps.

Honors include Meritorious Service Medal and recognition from the American Society of Civil Engineers. He holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from University of Illinois.

Teaching includes railroad engineering and pavement management courses. Professional affiliations include American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association and Transportation Research Board committees.
