Dr. Don King is a Professor of English and Faculty Fellow at Montreat College's Faculty of Christianity, Culture, and Human Expression. He earned a B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, an M.A. from Southern Illinois University, and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He served as editor of the Christian Scholar’s Review (1999-2015) and is a recipient of the Professor of the Decade award.
His research focuses on British Literature, C.S. Lewis Studies, Poetry, and Literary Biography. He specializes in Shakespeare, Chaucer, Milton, Romantic/Victorian literature, and 20th-century British literature, with extensive publications on C.S. Lewis, Ruth Pitter, and Joy Davidman.
Publications show sustained focus on C.S. Lewis's literary circle, poetic criticism, and biographical scholarship. Major themes include Inklings historiography, theological poetry, and epistolary analysis.
