Dominic Vella

Dominic Vella is a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, and a Tutorial Fellow at Lincoln College. His research focuses on elastic instabilities, particularly wrinkling and snap-through in thin elastic sheets, and the interplay of surface tension, adhesion, and elasticity in elasto-capillary systems.

• Research Interests: Elastic instabilities, wrinkling, snap-through, surface tension, adhesion, and elasto-capillarity.
• Key Contributions: Theoretical and experimental studies on thin films, snap-through dynamics, and curvature-induced mechanical responses.
