Dominic Spenser Underhill

Dominic Spenser Underhill is an Honorary Professor at Queen Mary University of London’s School of Law. He serves as Module Leader for the LLM course ‘Ethics in International Arbitration’ and has held roles including Senior Associate Lecturer (2009–2023) and Adjudicator for the Solicitors Regulation Authority (2009–present). Since 2002, he has been an International Arbitrator, and from 1999 to 2022, he was a member of the ICC Commission for International Arbitration & ADR and the UK Representative Committee.

His research focuses on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), ethics in international arbitration, and legal reform. Notable contributions include works on the Woolf Reforms’ impact on ADR and the interplay between British courts and ADR mechanisms. His publications span journals like European Business Law Review and Amicus Curiae.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has spoken at high-profile events like the UNIDROIT 30th Anniversary Conference (2024). His professional career spans over three decades, blending academia with practical legal expertise in arbitration and regulatory matters.
