Dominic Chow, MD, PhD, MPH is a Professor in the Department of Medicine and Clinical Professor in Pediatrics at the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), University of Hawaii at Manoa. He serves as Director of the Clint Spencer Clinic and Co-Investigator at the Hawaii Center for AIDS (HICFA), a University of Hawaii Board of Regents-approved Center of Excellence. His academic career began at JABSOM in 2000 as an investigator at HICFA.
Dr. Chow’s research focuses on the complications of HIV and antiretroviral therapy on autonomic nervous system function, cardiovascular health, glucose regulation, and liver metabolism. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and General Pediatrics, and holds certification in HIV Medicine from the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
He earned his PhD in Clinical Research from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. His clinical and translational research aligns with HICFA’s mission to improve HIV care through clinical trials, education, and addressing chronic non-infectious complications of HIV.
Key affiliations include leadership roles at the Clint Spencer Clinic, collaboration on anal cancer screening programs with community physicians, and participation in HICFA’s international research partnerships in Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines.
