Dmitry Sharapov is an Associate Professor of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategy at the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship within Imperial College London's Business School. He serves as the MRes/PhD Director for the department. His research focuses on competitive strategy, innovation management, and decision-making under uncertainty, with a particular emphasis on organizational imitation, inventive processes, and strategy in business ecosystems. Empirical studies include multinational technology firms, startup accelerators, the US movie industry, and the America's Cup World Series.
He contributes to academic governance as an Editorial Review Board member for the Journal of Management and Academy of Management Discoveries, and chairs the Research Committee of the Technology and Innovation Management (TIM) Division of the Academy of Management. He also guest edits a Special Research Forum in Academy of Management Discoveries exploring sport-based organizational contexts.
