Dmitry Korobeynikov is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University at Albany, State University of New York. His research focuses on cross-cultural interactions between Christian and Muslim communities in Europe and the Middle East before the seventeenth century, with particular expertise in Byzantine, Ottoman, and Eastern Christian studies.
- Education: D.Phil. from the University of Oxford and PhD from the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow).
His work examines historical dynamics such as the Byzantine-Turkish relations from the 11th to 15th centuries, Christian-Muslim polemics, and the emergence of Turkic states on Byzantine soil. He is currently finalizing a monograph titled Byzantium and the Turks in the Thirteenth Century, based on his D.Phil. dissertation, for submission to Oxford University Press.
