Dr. Divya Patel serves as a Lecturer in Business Strategy at Salford Business School, University of Salford since July 2022, teaching across MSc Management, MSc International Business, Global MBA, and Business Management with Foundation Year programs. She leads critical modules including Globally Responsible Leadership and Citizenship (Level 7) and Sustainability and Responsible Business.
Her academic foundation includes a PhD in Management from Royal Holloway University of London, where her doctoral research investigated corporate social responsibility in Gujarati small couple businesses through socioemotional wealth frameworks and feminist social construction theory, utilizing innovative participant-led drawings and interviews.
Research interests span Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability, Business Ethics, and Gender Studies, with emphasis on visual participatory methods to explore gender dynamics, marginalization, and agency in organizational contexts. Her work bridges theoretical rigor with practical applications in responsible business practices.
Publications include a 2022 book chapter demonstrating interdisciplinary approaches at the intersection of management and social sciences. Current research trends focus on technological innovation in sustainability education, including virtual reality simulations for gender equality and gamified carbon literacy systems.
As Carbon Literacy Coordinator, she developed an accredited institutional course expanding university-wide, and participates in Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) projects fostering global sustainability education. She actively supervises PhD research on CSR in SMEs, gender dynamics in corporate responsibility, and feminist epistemological perspectives in business ethics.
