Divya Chandra

Dr. Divya Chandra is a Part-Time Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at Tufts University and a Principal Technical Advisor in Aviation Human Factors at the U.S. DOT Volpe Center. She holds a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Michigan and dual Master's/Bachelor's degrees in Aeronautical Engineering from MIT and the University of Michigan.

Her research focuses on aviation human factors, particularly how pilots adapt to performance-based navigation operations. Dr. Chandra joined the Volpe Center in 1999 after working at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. She is also an instrument-rated private pilot, integrating practical aviation experience with academic expertise.
