Disa Cornish is an Associate Professor and Associate Department Head in the Department of Nursing & Public Health at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), College of Social & Behavioral Sciences. She holds a PhD in Health Promotion and Health Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health and an MS in Community and Behavioral Health from the University of Iowa College of Public Health.

Her research focuses on applied evaluation and survey research within public health, particularly addressing women's health, adolescent pregnancy prevention, child nutrition and obesity, and methodologies in mixed methods research and program evaluation. She has collaborated on grants and contracts funded by federal and state agencies, foundations, and nonprofits.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Cornish worked in UNI's Department of Recreation, Tourism and Nonprofit Leadership and as Program Evaluation Manager at the UNI Center for Social and Behavioral Research, where she conducted applied research and program evaluations.
