Dirk Scheele is a Professor in the Department of Social Neuroscience at the Faculty of Medicine, Ruhr University Bochum, and part of the Research Center One Health Ruhr of the University Alliance Ruhr. His research investigates the neurobiological foundations of social attachment, examining how social isolation affects sensory processing and trauma responses.
