Diptarka Das

Diptarka Das is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK), where he has been serving since November 2018. His academic journey includes postdoctoral work at the University of California, San Diego and research at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitationsphysik.

Dr. Das earned his PhD from the University of Kentucky in 2014, following completion of both his M.Sc. and B.E. from the Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani in 2010.

His research focuses on theoretical physics, with particular expertise in Conformal field theories, Non-equilibrium physics, and String theory. His work contributes to advancing our understanding of fundamental physics through mathematical frameworks and theoretical models.

Dr. Das has taught various courses including Quantum Field Theory and Quantum Mechanics during his graduate studies, and delivered specialized lectures on Holography and Conformal Field Theory for graduate students at the Max Planck Institute.
