Dipanjan Bhattacharya

Dr. Dipanjan Bhattacharya is a Senior Research Fellow and Head of Microscopy at the Molecular BioPhotonics & Imaging unit under the School of Chemistry at the University of Southampton. His work focuses on advancing imaging technologies for biomedical applications, including drug discovery and disease diagnosis.

Education:

• Master's in Physics, University of Kalyani, India
• Ph.D. in Biophysics from Raman Research Institute (Bangalore), collaborating with National Center for Biological Sciences (TIFR)

Research Interests:

Dr. Bhattacharya specializes in developing cutting-edge microscopy techniques and computational tools for quantitative biological analysis. His work integrates super-resolution microscopy, label-free imaging, and deep learning algorithms to address challenges in drug development, cancer biology, and organoid visualization.

• OrganVision (EU Horizon-2020): Leads WP4 to develop real-time imaging platforms for living organoids, collaborating with institutions in Norway, Spain, Germany, and SMEs.
• TIQBio (EPSRC): Co-PI in a Prosperity Partnership with AstraZeneca and M Squared Lasers to revolutionize 3D imaging for high-throughput drug screening.
