Dini Harsono is a Program Director at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA) and a Researcher in the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. She oversees HIV health services and global research programs, including the Clinical and Health Services Research Core and the Yale Global HIV/AIDS Research Network. Her work focuses on ethical considerations in health research and socio-ecological factors influencing evidence-based practices for HIV, mental health, and substance use.
Harsono holds an MSc in Psychological Approaches to Health from the University of Leeds and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universitas Indonesia. She has led literature reviews and mixed-methods studies, contributing to understanding HIV prevention, telemedicine during pandemics, and health equity in humanitarian crises. Key collaborations include studies with Drs. Jennifer Edelman, Gerald Friedland, and Kaveh Khoshnood.
Her research spans HIV care cascades, addiction interventions, and telemedicine efficacy. Notable projects include a scoping review on HIV acquisition in humanitarian settings and studies on smoking cessation for HIV-positive individuals. She has published in AIDS and Behavior, Journal of Substance Use and Addiction Treatment, and other peer-reviewed journals.
