Dimity Franks is a Lecturer in Early Childhood Studies at the School of Education, Edith Cowan University (ECU). She holds a Master of Education (2021) and two Bachelor's degrees in Education (1992, 1994). With over 20 years of teaching experience in West Australian schools, she transitioned to academia in 2010. Her roles include year-level coordinator and staff well-being manager within the Early Childhood studies team.

Her research focuses on teacher pedagogy, social-emotional development in learners, and factors impacting young children's learning. She leads the Transforming Transitions 2 project (2022–2026), funded by the Association of Independent Schools of WA (AISWA), aiming to enhance children’s school readiness and engagement.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on early childhood mathematics, child behavior management, creative environments, and professional inquiry.
