Dimitris Plexousakis is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Crete and Director of the Institute of Computer Science at FORTH. His research spans knowledge representation, semantic web technologies, service-oriented architectures, and database systems. With a PhD from the University of Toronto (1996), he leads multiple European projects including SmartHealth EDIH and participates in Horizon Europe initiatives.
Plexousakis has published extensively on knowledge graphs, semantic web applications, and distributed systems. His current work focuses on scalable knowledge graph management, neuro-symbolic AI integration, and semantic technologies for healthcare applications. He teaches database systems, logic, and business process management courses.
