Digvijay Boob

Dr. Digvijay Boob is an Assistant Professor in the Operations Research and Engineering Management Department at Southern Methodist University (SMU), Lyle School of Engineering. He joined SMU in October 2020 after completing his PhD in Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Optimization at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2020.

Education: PhD in Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Optimization (Georgia Tech, 2020). Prior to academia, he worked as a High-Frequency Trader at a proprietary trading firm.

Research Interests: Design and analysis of optimization algorithms, focusing on first-order methods, stochastic optimization, convex/nonconvex optimization, variational inequality problems, differential privacy, and machine learning theory. His work emphasizes developing algorithms with provably faster convergence guarantees for large-scale problems.

Recent Research Trends: His publications span advanced optimization techniques for saddle-point problems, differentially private synthetic data generation, and complexity analysis of neural networks. Recent work includes optimal algorithms for stochastic monotone variational inequalities and accelerated primal-dual methods for convex-strongly-concave problems.
