Dieter Weber

Dr. Dieter Weber serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Fermentation Sciences at Appalachian State University, where he has been a faculty member since 2015 after initially joining as a lecturer and receiving promotion in 2017.

His academic credentials include:

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Heidelberg University, Germany (2012), mentored by Michel R. Gagné
• B.S. in Chemistry from Heidelberg University, Germany (2009)

Dr. Weber's research centers on green chemistry-driven sustainable synthesis, with active projects in microwave-assisted reactions, biocatalysis applications, cascading/tandem reaction design, and innovative organic teaching laboratory development. His work prioritizes environmental efficiency through reduced waste and renewable resource utilization.
