Prof. Dieter Bathen is a full professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE), leading the Chair of Thermal Process Engineering and the scientific department of the Institute for Energy and Environmental Technology (IUTA e.V.). He holds a doctorate from the University of Dortmund (1998) and habilitation in process engineering (2002). His career includes roles in research and production at Degussa AG/Evonik AG and Röhm GmbH. He chairs the Johannes Rau Research Association (JRF) and leads VDI guidelines on flue gas cleaning via adsorption/chemisorption.
