Didier GEORGAKAKIS is a Professor of Political Science at the University Paris1 - Panthéon Sorbonne, holding a Jean Monnet Chair. He serves as Academic Coordinator of the European General Studies programme at the College of Europe (Bruges campus) since 2021, and has been a Visiting Professor there since 2008. Formerly a Professor at Sciences-Po Strasbourg (1997-2012), he is a Senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France until 2025. His research focuses on EU policy professionals, governance dynamics, and transnational leadership, with seminal works like The Euro-civil service in (times of) crisis (2017) and The field of eurocracy (2012/2013).
Teaching includes the course 'Pouvoir et institutions européennes', blending political sociology with practical career insights. He co-founded the European Alliance for Social Sciences and Humanities, driving SSH advocacy in Horizon Europe. Key roles include chairing Sorbonne's European Public Affairs Master’s program and contributing to ENA/Paris1’s International/European Policies Master’s.
