Didem Uca is Assistant Professor of German Studies at Emory University, with affiliations in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her research examines post/migrant literature, Turkish-German culture, and gender in German-language media, including hip-hop and social justice activism.
She teaches nineteenth to twenty-first century German literature, migration narratives, and gender studies. As co-editor of Jahrbuch Türkisch-Deutsche Studien, she promotes transnational scholarship. Awards include Fulbright Fellowships (2016, 2011) and the Goethe-Institut/AATG Certificate of Merit (2020).
Publications analyze disability in Yoko Tawada’s work, hip-hop pedagogies, and multilingual trauma narratives. She contributed to the textbook 'Impuls Deutsch 2' and translates Turkish/German texts.
