Diane S. Slaughter serves as Program Coordinator in the Department of Physical Therapy at Marquette University, a role she has held since joining the institution in 1990 as an instructor and laboratory supervisor. Her academic journey includes a B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (with a concentration in Athletic Training) and an M.S. from the University of Kentucky, where she earned the Robinson Award for Graduate Research.
Her professional interests focus on curriculum design, assessment, accreditation, and clinical education. She actively contributes to the Sports Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Wisconsin Athletic Trainers’ Association (WATA), and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA). Notably, she oversees the Department’s Continuing Education Program, which supports the PT Faculty Student Scholarship Fund.
Certifications include Specialty Clinical Specialist (S.C.S.) in Sports Physical Therapy (1994–2004), Wisconsin Physical Therapy licensure (#2305), and NATA certification as an Athletic Trainer (1980–2016). She is also a retired certified Athletic Trainer (WATA #240-039).
