Diane Jarrett

Diane Jarrett, Ed.D., M.A., is an Associate Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine, Department of Family and Preventive Medicine. She joined the faculty in 2008 and holds leadership roles including Director of the DFPM Office of Communication and Departmental Relations and Co-Director of the DFPM Office of Leadership and Professional Development. Her work focuses on residency program management, educational innovation, and communications strategy.

Dr. Jarrett's research spans medical education, healthcare communications, leadership development, and diversity initiatives. Her publications explore innovative educational methodologies, interdisciplinary healthcare approaches, and clinical case studies, reflecting a commitment to improving training outcomes and patient care.

She has received significant recognition including the UAMS Dean’s Educational Excellence Award, Dr. Edith Irby Jones Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award, UAMS MVP Award, and the Sandra L. Panther Fellowship in the History of Medicine. As co-editor of the STFM Education Column, she promotes educational advancements in family medicine.

Professional affiliations include the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, American Educational Research Association, and Mensa International. Outside academia, she publishes film criticism on classic cinema in international journals.
