Diana Kelly is a Visiting Senior Fellow at the School of Business, UNSW Canberra, with an academic career spanning since 1983. Previously, she served as Chair of Academic Senate at the University of Wollongong (2008-2014) and held leadership roles in NSW and national academic governance bodies. Her extensive service includes chairing academic governance reviews and international consultancy on higher education governance frameworks.
Her research encompasses historical and contemporary aspects of labor relations including:
- Industrial relations history with steel industry specialization
- Evolution of business/management theories
- Occupational health and safety systems
- Workplace bullying dynamics
- Higher education governance models
- Gender studies in historical contexts
- Early 20th century American socio-economic history
Professor Kelly has supervised approximately 15 doctoral dissertations across labor studies, radical history, political theory, development studies, migration patterns, and children's rights. Her editorial leadership includes service on the Journal of Industrial Relations (2008-2015) and current role as Editor-in-Chief of The Economic and Labour Relations Review.

Her scholarly output includes the 2020 biography The Red Taylorist: The Life and Works of Walter Nicholas Polakov and ongoing research for The Times and Life of Justice Jim Staples.
