Dia T. Bacon

Dia T. Bacon is an Assistant Professor/Industry Professional in the Department of Nursing at St. John’s University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. With nearly a decade of experience as a cardiology nurse in a top-rated New York City hospital, she transitioned to academia post-pandemic to educate and mentor future nurses. Her roles include teaching in classrooms, skills labs, simulation labs, and clinical settings.

• Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Africana Studies with a concentration in Secondary Social Studies Education from SUNY Stony Brook
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) from Adelphi University
• Master of Science in Nursing Education (M.S.N.) from Adelphi University

Her research interests focus on nursing education methodologies, clinical teaching, and lifelong learning in healthcare. She is certified as a Nurse Educator (CNE) and actively engages with professional nursing organizations. Professor Bacon emphasizes practical, hands-on training and integrates experiences from her frontline pandemic work into her pedagogy.
