Professor Di Luo holds dual roles as a Visiting Professor at the University of Southampton's Southampton Business School and as Professor (Chair) of Finance and Economics at the University of Dundee's Business School. He is also the Associate Dean of People & Culture at Dundee and serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Sustainable Finance and Investment. His research focuses on asset pricing, behavioral finance, ESG, and Fintech, with recent projects addressing sustainability, ambiguity in financial markets, and cryptocurrency mechanisms.
Di completed his PhD in Finance at Nottingham University Business School, alongside a MSc and BSc in Finance from Nankai University, China. He has published extensively in top-tier journals such as the Journal of Banking & Finance and European Financial Management. His teaching experience includes leading modules on portfolio management and derivatives at the University of Southampton, where he also earned HEA Fellowship and PGCAP qualifications.
Di supervises MSc and PhD students at Southampton Business School, including current PhD candidate Xiaohan Yu. He has held roles such as MSc Risk and Finance Programme Leader and EDI Champion for the South Coast Doctoral Training Program. His external engagement includes speaking at the 2022 Frontiers of Development Conference.
