Dhruv Batra is an Associate Professor in the School of Interactive Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, part of the College of Computing. His research integrates machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence to develop interpretable AI systems capable of summarizing beliefs, integrating cross-module information (vision, language, reasoning), and justifying decisions. He is a Core Faculty member in Robotics and holds affiliations with Data Engineering/Science and People/Technology initiatives at Georgia Tech.

Research Focus: Batra pioneers methods for explainable AI, multi-modal system integration, and uncertainty-aware predictions. Past work includes distributed optimization, human pose estimation, and image co-segmentation. His lab receives extensive media coverage (CNN, BBC, MIT Tech Review) and funding from NSF, DARPA, ONR, Google, NVIDIA, and others.
