Devin Serfas is an Assistant Professor and RDAR Chair in Applied Agricultural Economics and Risk Management at the University of Alberta's Department of Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology. He holds a PhD from the University of California, Davis (2024), an MSc from the University of Saskatchewan (2018), and a BSc in Agribusiness (2016). His research focuses on agricultural policy, markets, and farm management, with a particular emphasis on grain handling, R&D investment, intellectual property in agriculture, and agri-environmental policy. His work addresses issues such as soil carbon sequestration, R&D lag models, and wheat export sector dynamics. He has contributed to peer-reviewed journals like the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics and the Annual Review of Resource Economics.
