Devin Roach is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU), where he leads the Versatile Additive Manufacturing (VAMOS) Lab. His research focuses on AI-driven additive manufacturing, smart materials (e.g., liquid crystal elastomers and shape memory polymers), and their applications in biomedical devices, soft robotics, and energy harvesting. Prior to OSU, he worked at Sandia National Laboratories, advancing machine learning for real-time additive manufacturing control.
Dr. Roach holds a BS, MS, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, with a minor in philosophy. His work has been cited over 3,000 times and appears in top journals like Advanced Materials and Additive Manufacturing.
