Detlef Schoder

Detlef Schoder is a Chaired Professor for Information Systems and Information Management at the University of Cologne’s Faculty of Management, Economics, and Social Sciences. He founded the Cologne Institute for Information Systems (CIIS) and contributes to research in digital transformation, social media analysis, and open strategy. His work spans empirical studies in electronic commerce, artificial intelligence in logistics, and collective intelligence.

• Education: B.A. and M.A. from Munich/Passau; PhD and Habilitation from Freiburg.
• Research: Focuses on digital innovation, customer lifetime value models, and social technologies.
• Leadership: Academic auditor for the German Research Foundation (DFG); former speaker for the Scientific Commission on Information Systems (WKWI/VHB).
