Desiree Kozlowski

Desiree Kozlowski is an Associate Professor at Southern Cross University's Faculty of Health, where she contributes extensively as a researcher, educator, and academic leader. She currently serves as Chair of the Academic Board, demonstrating her commitment to institutional governance.

Her research focuses on strengths-based interventions for enhancing mental health and psychological well-being, with notable projects including the National Pleasure Audit and collaboration on the Toward Gender Harmony Project. Desiree actively engages in community research co-design and outreach, fostering opportunities for psychology students to connect with community initiatives. She supervises Honours, Masters, and PhD students on diverse topics such as emotional intelligence training for surgeons, well-being in aging adults, and rehabilitation programs for hearing loss.

In teaching, she led curriculum renewal for the Bachelor of Psychological Science and developed key units like Positive Psychology and Social and Emotional Competence in the Workplace, targeting future healthcare leaders.
