Derrick J. Sorweide

Derrick J. Sorweide is the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific - Northwest (COMP-NW), Western University of Health Sciences. He joined the institution full-time in 2012 after a career in private practice and military service. His roles include directing clinical education programs and leading cardiovascular medicine disciplines.

• Family Medicine Residency, University of North Texas Health Sciences Center/Dallas Southwest Medical Center (1997-1999)

Research & Teaching Focus: Clinical education innovation, osteopathic principles, cardiovascular medicine, and military/field medicine. He has developed core clinical training programs (Essentials of Clinical Medicine I-V) and advises student organizations in wilderness and military medicine.
