Derek Renshaw is Professor of Translational Physiology and Centre Director for the Centre for Health and Life Sciences at Coventry University. He earned his PhD from Queen Mary University of London and has held academic positions at the University of Westminster and Imperial College London.
His research program investigates inflammation pathways with a focus on Annexin A1 protein, salivary biomarkers, adipose tissue inflammation, and anti-inflammatory therapeutics. Current work examines the relationship between stress, obesity, and metabolic diseases.
Publications reflect interdisciplinary approaches combining physiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology to study inflammatory processes in metabolic disorders. Recent articles explore molecular mechanisms in liver metabolism and cancer therapeutics.
