Derek Green is a Lecturer in English and Creative Writing at Yale University. He holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing and an A.B. in English Language and Literature, both from The University of Michigan. His creative works include the short story collection New World Order and a novel about a Midwestern militia. He has also written extensively on topics like industrial farming, trauma surgery, and the international war on terror, and has contributed to major studios such as HBO, AMC, and Sony Productions as a screenwriter.
Green teaches courses in television drama writing (English 248), creative writing fundamentals (English 123), and modern essay writing (English 120). His professional affiliations include the Writers Guild of America East and PEN American Center. He has delivered over 200 seminars and workshops across 22 countries, focusing on creative writing and narrative techniques.
