About
Denton Callander is an Associate Professor at the Kirby Institute, University of New South Wales (UNSW), where he has been conducting research since 2011. His work focuses on sexual health and well-being using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches across Australasia, Africa, North America, and Europe, with particular interest in social justice and the digital world.
Dr. Callander's research spans sexual health epidemiology, HIV/STI prevention, transgender and gender diverse health, and health disparities. He leads major national studies including the Australian Study of Health and Relationships and the Australian Trans and Gender Diverse Sexual Health Survey. His work with Médecins Sans Frontières in Mombasa, Kenya represents a significant component of his global health research portfolio.
