About
Dennis Valbjørn Christensen is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Energy Conversion and Storage, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), and a Hans Fischer Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study (TUM-IAS), Technical University of Munich. He holds a PhD from DTU, following bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on modifying and visualizing functional properties of oxide energy materials, particularly using magnetic microscopy to study quantum magnetometry in energy devices. Christensen has conducted extensive research on oxide heterostructures, interface engineering, and magnetoresistive phenomena, with notable contributions to the γ-Al₂O₃/SrTiO₃ system and strain-tunable magnetism at domain walls.
He has held tenure-track and tenured positions at DTU and completed external stays at Harvard University, UC Berkeley, and other institutions. His awards include the 2024 Promising Early Career Scientist Award (Materials Today Energy), 2023 Sapere Aude Award (Denmark), and multiple Emerging Investigator accolades. His work bridges materials science and energy applications, emphasizing next-generation electronic and magnetic device development.
