Dennis Huerten

Dennis Huerten serves as Professor of Health and Tourism Management at Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences since March 2013, specializing in tourism economics with emphasis on health and sports tourism sectors.

• Diploma in Geography (minors: Urban Planning, Law, Transport Science) from University of Cologne (1998-2004)
• Doctoral studies in cultural geography at University of Cologne (2004-2006); dissertation: "Sportscape Mallorca" – A geographical study of economic significance and spatial impact of Mallorcan cycling tourism
• Intensive business administration course at IWW (Fernuniversität Hagen) (2004-2005)

Professor Huerten's research centers on geographical and economic dimensions of tourism, particularly analyzing spatial impacts of cycling tourism and health tourism economics.
