Dennis G. Pardee

Dennis G. Pardee is the Henry Crown Professor of Hebrew Studies at the University of Chicago, where he has taught since 1972. His research focuses on Ugaritic language and literature, ancient Syrian culture, and the intersection of Ugaritic mythology with the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. He teaches courses on Biblical Hebrew, pre-exilic Hebrew inscriptions, Phoenician inscriptions, and Northwest Semitic philology.
